Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is the son of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.
It is a common perception that dynasty is not good in politics. The reason is that the son just inherits the father's position without being tested for it. A non-dynast would have to really work hard and struggle a lot to secure a position, whereas her/his daughter/son will just get the post automatically and may not inherit the 'hardworkingness.'
However, there is also a feeling that many and politicians are very violent and very scheming. If dynasts do not inherit a hardworking personality from their father/mother, isn't it possible that they do not inherit the bad elements as well?
